GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a local resident with two criminal offences in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation.
On March 13, at around 6 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP commenced an investigation of intimate partner violence at an address in Rockwood.
As a result, a 32-year-old from Rockwood was charged under the Criminal Code with spousal assault and spousal assault with a weapon, police said in a news release.
Police said the accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
The OPP said it does not release the names of the accused in intimate partner violence investigations to protect the identity of the victim(s).
