Driver accused of ignoring OPP officer's directions

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Guelph resident under the Highway Traffic Act.

On March 17, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were directing traffic on Eastview Road within Guelph-Eramosa Township, just outside of the City of Guelph, when a motor vehicle failed to comply with officer's directions at a scene and a traffic stop was conducted.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old from Guelph is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Disobey officer directing traffic
  • Disobey stop sign - fail to stop

The accused was also given warnings under the Highway Traffic Act for:

  • Careless driving
  • Fail to stop for police
