Intimate partner violence charges laid in Palmerston

Police say the 40-year-old was disobeying conditions of a court order

TOWN OF MINTO — On March 9, 2025, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a Listowel resident in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation.

On March 9, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to an address in Palmerston to report of a person disobeying conditions of a court order.

As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old of Listowel is charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

  • Fail to Comply with Release Order
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Breach of Recognizance

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
