Cambridge teen accused of driving impaired in Wellington County

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Cambridge resident with one criminal, and two provincial charges stemming from a single motor-vehicle collision into a ditch.

On March 8, 2025, at approximately 5:45 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a single motor-vehicle into a ditch on Laird Road West within Puslinch Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old from Cambridge is charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
  • Driving while under suspension

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on March 18, 2025.
