Puslinch traffic stop nets impaired charge for Hamilton driver

PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest and charge a Hamilton resident with one criminal and two provincial charges stemming from a traffic stop.

On March 1, 2025 at approximately 4 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting a proactive traffic enforcement initiative and initiated a traffic stop on Highway 6 within Puslinch Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old of Hamilton, is charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit
  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed - community zone

Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform stunt receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver's licence suspension as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on March 11, 2025.
