Police release new info on sexual assault at Fergus business

Invetigators are looking into a similar incident from July 2023 where a similarly described man was involved in a West Garafraxa incident

Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have gathered more information that may help a sexual assault investigation that occurred on April 30, 2024, at a retailer in Fergus. Investigators have identified that the suspect was operating a dark sedan that is similar to a Volkswagen Jetta or Passat. The suspect was described as white, 50-60 years-old, tall, heavy set, wearing a dark baseball cap, dark sunglasses, dark hoody, blue spandex shorts, and white sneakers.

Investigators are also looking into a similar incident that occurred at a business on Wellington Road 18, West Garafraxa. It was reported that on the afternoon of July 27, 2023, a male, wearing a pair of red "spandex" shorts, approached a female employee and made conversation. He talked about how he had lost weight and wanted to show off his physique. He also made mention of "owning blue and black pairs (of spandex shorts)". Further, he referred to having a conversation about his physique with another woman, earlier that day, at a different local business. Investigators have not been able to identify the woman or business that he spoke about. The male was described as 40-50 years-old, wearing red spandex shorts, a ball cap, a dark windbreaker, and operating a grey Volkswagen sedan, possibly a Passat or Jetta.
