TOWN OF ERIN

In a significant move to enhance the Town’s transportation infrastructure and strategically prepare for future growth, the Town of Erin is pleased to announce the hiring of 30 Forensic Engineering (30FE) to develop its first-ever Transportation Master Plan (TMP). This comprehensive plan will serve as a strategic policy document, providing a roadmap for transportation investments from the present until the horizon year of 2055.
The Transportation Master Plan aims to improve and expand Erin’s existing transportation network, fostering the Town’s vision of becoming a community leader in creating livable spaces. This initiative will support economic development, boost tourism, and promote sustainable transportation practices, all while adapting to the needs of an evolving shared economy.
Strategic approach to transportation planning
The TMP will be developed in alignment with the Provincial Environmental Assessment (EA) Act, specifically following Approach 1 as outlined in the 2023 Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA). This phased approach will first assess problems and opportunities, followed by exploring alternative solutions, ultimately facilitating streamlined implementation of recommended capital road works.
Community engagement and input
The Town of Erin recognizes the importance of public and stakeholder engagement in this process. Residents, stakeholders, and agency partners are encouraged to share their insights on the current transportation system and future opportunities through the study’s duration.
To facilitate community involvement, the project team will host two Public Information Centres (PIC) to gather feedback and present study findings. The first PIC is anticipated to take place in January 2025. Also, in the weeks to come, TMP updates will be provided on Erin’s new public engagement website
