Two more charged in 2019 death of man last seen in Harriston

Two additional people have been charged with kidnapping and first-degree murder in the death of Jason Brown of Harriston

Jason John Brown was last seen on March 12, 2019 in Harriston.

Two more individuals have been charged with first degree murder and kidnapping in the 2019 death of a man last seen in Harriston.

The body of Jason Brown, 43, was located in the Oshawa area of Durham Region in March 2019.

Three people have previously been charged with first degree murder. On Monday Wellington County OPP announced two other individuals have also been charged:

Mathew DRUMOND, 38, of London, was charged with:

  • First-degree murder, section 465(1)(c)
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence, section 235(1)

Jessica MARTIN, 35 years old of North Perth, was charged with:

  • First-degree murder, section 235(1)
  • Kidnapping, section 279(1)(a)
  • Obstruct justice, section 139(1) - three counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, section 354(1)(a) - two counts.

The accused will make their next court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on February 3, 2025.

The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and with the assistance of the OPP Biker Enforcement Unit.

The Government of the Province of Ontario is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of Brown.
