Pair of Wellington County drivers face impaired charges

On Nov. 19, 2024, at approximately 3:15 p.m., an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment initiated a traffic stop on Wellington Road 7, Pilkington Township.

As a result of the investigation, [a 62-year-old] of Pilkington Township, was charged with:

  • operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on Dec. 6, 2024.

On November 16, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Wellington Road 18, Fergus.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped, and the driver was assessed for sobriety. As a result of the investigation, [a Scarborough man], was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on December 17, 2024.
