OPP charge Harriston resident after traffic stop

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Harriston resident with numerous provincial offences.

On Dec. 7, at approximately 2:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a traffic enforcement initiative when they detected a suspicious motor vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on the Hanlon Parkway North within the City of Guelph.

As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old from Harriston was charged under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
  • Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court - Guelph at a later date.
