WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP

On June 7, 2023, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Wellington North Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in a field off of Sligo Road East. The cause of the fire was determined to be suspicious, and the Wellington County OPP entered into an investigation.
As a result of the investigation, a 14-year-old of the Township of Wellington North has been charged with arson – damage to property. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
