A small fire at around 7 a.m. Sunday at Groves Memorial Community Hospital was put out by nursing staff, the hospital says.
The fire was in the green patient care wing, the hospital said in a release.
"The nursing staff were quick to respond and put the fire out," the hospital said.
Police and fire crews attended the scene on Campbell Street in Fergus.
There were no injuries, all patients were safe, with minor damage was reported, the hospital said.
Due to smoke, patients were moved from the green wing to the blue wing.
"Special thanks to the quick response from the Groves Hospital nursing, physicians, housekeeping, registration, and maintenance staff, as well as the Centre Wellington Fire Department and OPP," the hospital said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Visitors are being asked to check in at the Nursing Care Desk before visiting patients.
