CENTRE WELLINGTON — On Aug. 29, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, Fergus. At approximately 7 a.m., the driver of a grey sedan was observed travelling more than 60km/h over the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old from Mount Forest, was charged with:
- Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
- Speeding 50+km/hr over posted limit contrary to the Highway Traffic
The defendant is scheduled to appear in the provincial offences court - Guelph, at a later date
*Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver's licence suspension as per statute.
