MAPLETON TOWNSHIP - Wellington County OPP received a report of a single vehicle striking a tree, which lead to the arrest of a Wellesley resident.
On Nov. 12, 2024 just before 4:30 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a single vehicle collision involving the vehicle striking a tree on Eighth Line within Mapleton Township.
As a result of the investigation, Nicholas Furler, a 29-year-old of Wellesley Ont., was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statue.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on Nov. 26, 2024.
