February 4th, 1959 - October 30th, 2024
On October 30, 2024 Sherry Lee Windmill (Emmerson), born February 4, 1959, passed away with her loving husband of 47 years, Donald Windmill by her side. Sherry has left behind her two children Derek (Courtney) Windmill and Vanessa Windmill, as well as four grandchildren; Bentley, Austin, Nathan and Carly. Loved and cherished by her mom Joan Emmerson and remembered by her siblings Jo-Ann, Wade (Julie), Kent (Tracey), and Glenn (Elizabeth) and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Sherry spent the past 30 years confined to a wheelchair with complications from spina bifida and many years in and out of hospitals. She was a fighter however these hurdles did not stop her ability to smile, give joy, make everyone around her feel special and help anyone she met. She loved anyone around her fiercely.
Cremation has taken place. The family welcomes you to pay respects and share memories on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus from 11 AM until 12 PM, with a funeral service to take place at 12 PM in the chapel. Following the service, guests are invited upstairs to the Wellington Room for a time of fellowship and refreshments. Elevator access is available.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sherry may be made to the SickKids Foundation, or to a charity of your choice, and are greatly appreciated by her family.
