Passed away peacefully on March 06, 2025, at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, ON at the age of 70, with family at her side. Sharon was born on March 30, 1954, in Mount Forest, Ontario, to parents Patrick and Helen Rice. Sharon is survived by her husband, Mark Snider and her children, Shawn (Ashlee), Matt (Sarah), Luke (Sarah), Katrina (Ben) and her grandchildren, Jack, Evan, Hailey, Nathan, Emily, Patrick, and Nora. She also leaves behind siblings Jim (Linda), sister-in-law Susan, Sheila (Al), Rita (Steve), Doug (Cathy), Len (Kim) and many nieces and nephews. Sharon is preceded by her parents and older brother Kevin Rice.

Sharon grew up on the family farm in Proton Township and was the middle child of seven siblings. She went to high school in Flesherton and then later met Mark, married, and settled in Fergus in 1978. Sharon worked for 41+ years as a health care assistant with Home Care (CCAC) providing assistance to home care patients and their families.

Sharon loved life, mostly family, friends and work associates. Sharon became a hockey Mom as her children grew and she followed them wherever they played. As grandchildren arrived, her attention and love turned to nurturing and teaching them about gardening, baking and enjoying life. She was born to be a mother and she provided this motherly love, care and guidance to not only her children, but all her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great nieces/nephews.

Sharon was a member of St Joseph’s Parish in Fergus for 46+years. Sharon was blessed with a huge heart, filled with love, she shared with all. Her infectious smile lit up any room, and her cheery outlook made everyone else feel better.
