It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Victor Harold Robb-Dockrell, who peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 12th, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Guelph. He was in his 82nd year.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He will be dearly missed by his son, Ryan Victor Lance Robb of Hamilton, and his granddaughter, Kayleen Emma Lilley-Robb of Welland. Also by his surviving sisters,
Diana Cecile Schnitzler of Toronto, and Erica Helen Pearson of Ajax.
Especially missed by Amy Kavanagh-Newson and her children, Olivia Pearl, Lily Ann, Edmund Joseph and Logan Edward Newson of Elora, as well as Karen Kavanagh (GiGi) of Alma.
He will be dearly missed by all of his extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all doctors, nurses, PSWs and staff that were involved in Victor's care at Groves Memorial Hospital and homecare (Closing the Gap and Bayshore Home Health) for their excellent care and compassion.
Victor served in the Artillery Division as a gunner for the Canadian Armed Forces from 1961 - 1973. He was a Peacetime Veteran.
He was a proud Scout Leader for Scouts Canada. He served as a ski patroller for Mount St. Louis Moonstone. He worked at Phillips Cable in Toronto, and he later worked for NextGen Hose in Fergus until his retirement. Since his retirement, he has become a notable figure in Elora.
A celebration of his life will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 36 Henderson Street, Elora on January 25th, 2025 at 11 AM, followed by a reception at the Elora Royal Canadian Legion, 110 Metcalfe Street, Elora until 3 PM.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Elora Canadian Legion Branch 229 - Veteran Affairs Program and / or the Centre Wellington Food Bank of Fergus would be greatly appreciated by the family.
