MOSEY, Dawn Georgina (née Brookes)

May 19, 1955 – November 15, 2024

It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to Dawn Georgina Mosey (Brookes) who passed away peacefully at age 69, on November 15th, 2024, at Guelph General Hospital with loved ones by her side. Dawn was born in Ottawa on May 19th, 1955, to Barbara Brookes (McKenny) and (the late) James Brookes.

She was a devoted mother to Kathleen, and Robyn (Brandon Shoemaker), and was predeceased by Christina.

Her memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her grandchildren Finnik and Austin Shoemaker, her brothers Scott (Caroline) Brookes, and Mark (Kathy) Brookes, her nieces and nephews, Kyle (Paige) Brookes, Erin Brookes, Ashley (Justin) Pond, Brianna (Noah) Ruppert, and great nieces Hannah and Olivia Brookes, and Emma and Lauren Pond.

She was known for her kindness and infectious smile, and she enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family who were able to be around her to the very end.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Parkinson Canada would be appreciated by the family.

A service will take place at the church she loved, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Fergus, on Friday, November 22nd, at 1:30 PM. The family will receive guests at a reception to follow the service. The interment will take place on November 30th in Ottawa with her close family and friends.
