Albert “Bud” Edward Barber passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, at the age of 91.
Bud was the cherished husband of Mary for 67 years, father of the late Luther and Brenda, and leaves behind sons Albert (Cathy) and Derek (Lori), along with seven grandchildren: Cynthia, Samantha, Jessica, Ali, Cayla, Aidan, and Melanie and two great-grandchildren: Arthur and Frederick.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Bud's love for family was matched only by his dedication to golf, cricket, and hockey. Though he often claimed to dislike the Toronto Maple Leafs, those who knew him best knew he never missed a game!
Bud enjoyed a long and rewarding career at CLM and the City of Scarborough, where he was admired for his work ethic, mechanical skills, and curiosity. Whether at work or home, he was always taking things apart to fix them.
Bud will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of his life will be held on December 7 from 12-2pm at Giddy’s Funeral Home in Fergus. At 1pm there will be an opportunity to share memories of Bud. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Groves Memorial Hospital.
