On the ice: Whalers win in Walkerton

FERGUS WHALERS

The Whalers got the win on Saturday night 4-1 in Walkerton against the Capitals. 

Fergus is second out of eight teams in the PJHL’s North Pollock division standings with 14 wins, three losses and one shootout loss. 

The team takes on the Wingham Ironmen twice this upcoming weekend, first in an away game Saturday evening and then on home ice Sunday afternoon. 

MOUNT FOREST PATRIOTS

Mount Forest won twice over the weekend, first in Walkerton 6-2 against the Capitals on Friday and then 3-1 against Wingham Saturday in another away game.

The team is third out of eight teams in the PJHL’s North Pollock division standings with 12 wins, three losses and two overtime losses.

The Patriots next play in Goderich on Sunday afternoon against the Flyers.

ELORA ROCKS

Elora did not play this past weekend and remains second out of nine teams in the WOSHL standings with seven wins and one loss. 

The Rocks are at home Friday evening against the first place Alvinston Killer Bees. 

ERIN OUTLAWS

The Outlaws got the win on the road Friday 6-5 against the Durham Thundercats but couldn’t pull off a win at home Saturday losing 5-4 against the Tavistock Royals. 

The team is sixth out of 11 teams in the OEHL standings with three wins and three losses.

Erin does not play this upcoming weekend and is next on the ice on Nov. 23.

MINTO 81’s

Minto won twice at home in two high scoring matches, first beating Saugeen Shores Winterhawks 6-2 on Saturday and then 9-1 over the Lucknow Lancers on Sunday.

The team is fifth out of 11 teams in the OEHL standings with four wins. 

The 81’s hit the road Sunday for an afternoon game against the Lancers.
