On the ice: Fergus Whalers have a winning weekend

Weekly wrap-up on the wins and losses from the Elora Rocks, Fergus Whalers, Mount Forest Patriots, Erin Outlaws and Minto 81's

ELORA ROCKS 

Elora got rocked on home ice. 

The Rocks lost 10-4 over the Orangeville Blitz on Friday. 

The team remains second in the WOSHL standings with 13 wins and eight losses.

Elora will face the Stratford Fighting Irish at home on Friday and the Aeros in Dunville on Saturday.

FERGUS WHALERS

The Whalers pulled off a pair of wins over the weekend. 

Fergus started the weekend with a 4-3 win over the Mount Forest Patriots on Saturday and then won a Sunday afternoon home game over the Walkerton Capitals 4-2. 

The team is third in the North Pollock division with 22 wins, six losses, three overtime losses and one shootout loss.

The Whalers will be at home twice this upcoming weekend, first taking on the Hanover Barons on Friday and then the Kincardine Bulldogs on Sunday. 

MOUNT FOREST PATRIOTS

The Patriots couldn’t put any points in the win column. 

Mount Forest lost twice over the weekend, first 4-3 in Kincardine on Friday and then 4-3 at home over Fergus. 

The team is second in the North Pollock division with 26 wins, six losses and three overtime losses.

Mount Forest will host the Goderich Flyers on Friday and then are on the road to Wingham to face the Ironmen on Saturday.

ERIN OUTLAWS

Erin both won and lost this past weekend. 

First, the team won 7-5 over the Georgian Bay Applekings at home on Saturday but were handed an 8-5 loss from the Milverton Four Wheel Drives the next day. 

The Outlaws are eighth in the OEHL standings with six wins and 12 losses.

It’ll be the battle of Wellington County on Saturday as Erin goes off to Palmerston to face the Minto 81’s. 

MINTO 81’s

Minto came out on top in its only game this past weekend. 

The team won 4-2 over the Tavistock Royals at home on Sunday. 

Minto is third in the OEHL standings with 11 wins and four losses.

The 81’s host the Ripley Wolves on Friday and Erin on Saturday.
