On the ice: Whalers win big over Wingham

ELORA ROCKS

The Rocks lost 9-5 in a high scoring match-up against the first place Alvinston Killer Bees at home on Friday.

The team remains second out of nine teams in the WOSHL standings with seven wins and two losses. 

Elora hits the road for two games this coming weekend, first on Friday against the Petrolia Squires and then Saturday against the Tilsonburg Thunder. 

FERGUS WHALERS

The Whalers lost 4-3 in overtime on Saturday against the Wingham Ironmen in an away game. The team bounced back with a huge 10-3 win at home on Sunday on home ice against Wingham. 

Fergus is second out of eight teams in the PJHL’s North Pollock division standings with 15 wins, three losses, one overtime loss and one shootout loss.

The Whalers are on the ice twice this upcoming weekend, first in Hanover Friday against the Barons and then hosting the Walkerton Capitals at home Sunday afternoon.

MOUNT FOREST PATRIOTS

The Patriots got the win in Goderich on Sunday, beating the Flyers 4-2. 

Mount Forest is third out of eight teams in the PJHL’s North Pollock division standings with 13 wins, three losses and two overtime losses.

It’s a two game weekend for the Patriots who play against the Mitchell Hawks on Friday and then at home Saturday against the Flyers.

MINTO 81’s

Minto shut out the Lucknow Lancers 9-0 in an away game. 

The 81’s are third out of 11 teams in the OEHL standings with five wins and no losses.

The team plays at home on Saturday against the Seaforth Centenaires.

ERIN OUTLAWS

Erin did not play this weekend and is next on the ice on Saturday against Lucknow in an away game and then at home Sunday against the Milverton Four Wheel Drives. 

The team is seventh out of 11 teams in the OEHL standings with three wins and three losses.
