On the ice: another big home ice win for Elora

Weekly wrap-up on the wins and losses from the Elora Rocks, Fergus Whalers, Mount Forest Patriots, Erin Outlaws and Minto 81's

ELORA ROCKS

The Rocks got another home ice victory on Friday, beating the Strathroy Jets 7-2. 

The team is now second out of nine teams in the WOSHL standings with 10 wins and four losses. 

Elora is on home ice for the last time this year this coming Friday against the Stratford Fighting Irish.

FERGUS WHALERS

Fergus got a win and loss this past weekend. First, the Whalers won 2-1 in Hanover Saturday against the Barons before falling short 1-0 against the Mount Forest Patriots at home Sunday.

The Whalers are second out of eight teams in the PJHL’s North Pollock division with 18 wins, four losses, two overtime losses and one shootout loss.

The team is on the road to Goderich Saturday to take on the Flyers.

MOUNT FOREST PATRIOTS

The Patriots were winning this past weekend, first 7-1 over the Hawks in Mitchell Saturday and 1-0 over Fergus on Sunday.

Mount Forest is third out of eight teams in the PJHL’s North Pollock division with 17 wins, four losses and two overtime losses.

The team plays twice in away games, first on Friday against Walkerton and then Saturday against Kincardine.

ERIN OUTLAWS

Erin lost twice, first 3-2 on Saturday against the Milverton Four Wheel Drives in an away game and then were shutout 4-0 at home Sunday against the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks. 

The team is eighth out of 11 teams in the OEHL standings with four wins and seven losses. 

The Outlaws are on the ice again in Creemore Saturday to face the Coyotes.

MINTO 81’s

Minto won 9-6 over the Georgian Bay Applekings at home on Saturday.

The 81’s are third out of 11 teams in the OEHL standings with eight wins and one loss.

The team is off to Ripley to take on the Wolves this coming Saturday.
