Plenty of haunted houses, tours and other spooky events to celebrate the season

Friday

Night Maze

Strom’s Farm and Bakery at 5089 Wellington Rd. 32, Guelph; 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Includes corn maze and fire pit area only. Fires will be lit for sharing.

Witches Walk

Main Street, Erin; 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

An annual evening filled with shopping experiences, mystical vibes and social energy. Proceeds go towards the Headwaters Health Care Foundation. Registration is here.

Witches Night Out

Downtown Fergus; 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Annual event with dancing witches, a pub crawl, fire spinning show, crafting and more around downtown Fergus.

Cemetery Tour

Wellington County Museum and Archives at 0536 Wellington Rd. 18, Fergus; 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Explore macabre stories from the people that both lived and worked at the county poor house. Register for the event here.

Murder Mystery Night

Wellington County Museum and Archives at 0536 Wellington Rd. 18, Fergus; 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Solve the murder mystery at the Poor House before the party is over. Tickets can be found here.

Halloween Drag Party

Elora Distilling Company at 102 Metcalfe St. Unit 4, Elora; 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The House of Kameleon hosts a spooky drag show including a runway workshop, guess the Halloween song challenge and more. Tickets can be found here.

Halloween Dance

Fergus Legion at 500 Blair St., Fergus; 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Live music from Poverty’s Arise. Wearing costumes is encouraged. There will be prizes for best costume and most creative. Tickets are $15 and can be paid via e-transfer to [email protected]. More information is available on the website https://www.ferguslegion.ca/events

470 Wellington Rd. 7, Elora; 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The haunted house experience is back. Tickets can be bought at the door or in advance here.

Fergus Ghost Walk

191 St. Andrew St. W., Fergus; 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Actors and historians lead you on a lantern walk and guided tour of one of Canada’s most haunted villages. Tickets are strongly recommended to be bought in advance here.

Elora Rocks

Jefferson Elora Community Centre at 29 David St. W., Elora; 8:30 p.m.

Home game against the Dunnville Aeros.

Mount Forest Patriots

Mount Forest and District Sports Complex at 850 Princess St., Mount Forest; 8 p.m.

Home game against the Goderich Flyers.

Saturday

Elora Farmers’ Market Winter

Highland Rugby Club at 160 Albert St. W., Fergus; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Halloween Haunt Street Walk

Downtown Fergus; 10 a.m. to noon

Dress up the children and come downtown for free treat giveaways at participating downtown shops. Other activities include a haunted alley, face painting, witchy crafts, music on the streets and more.

Trick or Treat Main Street

Main Street, Erin; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Trick or treating at participating Main Street shops in the Village of Erin. 

Halloween Haunting in downtown Mount Forest

Downtown Mount Forest; 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Wear your best costume and bring a carved pumpkin for this event.

Spooky Stables

The GrandWay Events Centre at 7445 Wellington Rd. 21, Elora; 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A ‘spooktacular’ time at the Grand River Raceway stables. First half is geared towards younger children and the fright level is low before things are turned up at 7 p.m. for the full experience. Entry is $5 with all proceeds going to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington.

Costumes, dance and prizes at this event. Tickets are $15 and those of the age of majority can attend. There will also be a late night cold buffet.

Halloween Pumpkin Party

Wicked Welly Farm & Apiary at 8775 Wellington Rd. 18; Belwood; noon to 4 p.m.

Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex at 550 Belsyde Ave. E., Fergus; 3 p.m.

Home game against the Kincardine Bulldogs.

Trunk or Treat

35 Farley Rd., Fergus; 3 to 5 p.m.

A free family friendly event where volunteers park their cars and have themed booths with their trunks. It’s carnival style but don’t fret you will win a prize or candy whether you win or lose.
