CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) will be holding an open house to show options for the new Centre Wellington elementary school’s boundaries.
The open house will be held on Nov. 27 at Centre Wellington District High School’s cafetorium near the main doors from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A notice from the UGDSB said it will be drop-in style event to provide the school community an opportunity to view and discuss the information from an upcoming boundary review options report, which is expected to be included on a board agenda for a meeting on Nov. 19.
The new elementary school in the Storybrook subdivision will hold 308 students and is expected to be operating for the 2025/2026 school year.
Students in the area now are assigned to Salem Public School for JK to Grade 3 and then Elora Public School for Grade 4 to Grade 8. The UGDSB’s long-term accommodation report said these schools are over capacity.
Salem has a capacity of 213 and had 287 students for the 2023/2024 year and Elora’s capacity is 464 with 501 enrolled in those years.
