ERIN – Following the announcement of the Town of Erin’s brand refresh and logo change — and the subsequent public backlash to it — the town is looking for input on it.
The town has launched a brand refresh online feedback page for residents to learn about the rebranding process and to get comments from residents.
There will also be a branding open house held at the Erin Legion on Tuesday Oct. 1 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Town of Erin revealed a new logo on Sept. 13, nine days after putting out a call for residents to share their thoughts on rebranding. This was followed by a social media backlash by residents, who noted its similarity to other logos, and led to a petition asking the town to revert to the previous shamrock logo.
“We moved quickly to align the new branding with the construction timeline of the new water tower, a fantastic opportunity to brand a long-lasting piece of large infrastructure,” a section of the feedback page says.
“However, the urgency to place the branding on the new water tower led us to expedite certain timelines to avoid additional costs to taxpayers, but we now realize that this came at the expense of robust community engagement.”
