CENTRE WELLINGTON – A young driver is facing a charge but is lucky to have only minor injuries say Wellington OPP after a crash.
Jacob Unger, Wellington OPP spokesperson, said in an email a 17-year-old from London is being charged with careless driving after a single-vehicle collision on July 25. He also noted the driver was the only person in the vehicle or involved in this incident.
Unger said specifics of the collision can't be revealed but noted the weather conditions in a photo posted to Twitter shows sunny and clear with dry roads.
The photo shows a pick-up truck with significant damage to its front end next to a tree that appears to be missing a large patch of bark.
OPP West Region tweeted that the driver is "lucky after walking away from this single vehicle collision on Sideroad 5, Nichol Twp, with minor injuries. It could have been much worse."
The post also urged drives to pay attention, put down cellphones and follow speed limits.
