*************************
Issued at 2025-01-01 10:28AM EST by Environment Canada:
Snow squall warning replaces snow squall watch for:
Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County, Ont. (046410)

Current details:
Lake effect snow squalls expected.

Hazards:
Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations of 15 to 30 cm by Thursday morning.
Additional accumulations possible Thursday and Thursday night.
Poor visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Timing:
Beginning late this afternoon and continuing through tonight. Additional snow squalls possible Thursday and Thursday night.

Discussion:
Lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron will develop in the wake of a low pressure system. Northwest winds gusting up to 60 km/h can result in blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility at times.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
