Kevin Kruchkywich has been acclaimed as the NDP’s candidate for the 2025 federal election in the riding of Perth-Wellington.

An actor and improviser with nearly 30 years of experience performing across Canada, he has lived and worked both as a general contractor and actor in Stratford for the last decade. Kruchkywich also ran for the NDP in the last federal election.

“I’m thrilled that our party has put their faith in me again in 2025,” said Kruchkywich. “Last time I ran I had the chance to connect with so many people from across our riding – people who told me that they were really struggling. I’m running again because I know that I can be a voice in Parliament that will fight for everyday families – not billionaires and their buddies. I’m ready and I know that our party and our leader are ready to fight for Canadians.”

“Kevin has a unique window into the lives of Canadians from all walks of life,” said Astoria Buzek, president of the local NDP riding association executive. “No matter where they stand on the socio-economic spectrum, Kevin has seen a common thread – Canadians are struggling, and many are deeply concerned about the future of the nation. We’re so excited to have Kevin representing the NDP in 2025.”

Raised in Alberta by a father who hauled cattle and a mother who worked for the school board, Kevin learned the value of hard work and developed strong principles along with a good sense of humour. Now, he’s ready to bring those values to Ottawa and fight for a Canada that works for everyone.

Kevin and his wife, Sara-Jeanne, made Stratford their home 12 years ago, drawn in by its welcoming communities and entrepreneurial spirit. In recent years—especially since the pandemic—he has watched jobs disappear and housing become unaffordable. Now with the threat of Donald Trump’s tariffs, everything is even more uncertain.

That’s why Kevin stands with Jagmeet Singh and the NDP—the only party that puts people first. The NDP fights for Canadian workers and their families while ensuring compassion remains at the heart of politics.
