MOUNT FOREST – Students at a Wellington North high school have spread warm wishes with a big donation to the community.
This year’s Warm Winter Wishes campaign spearheaded by Wellington Heights Secondary School teacher Christiane Lopez and her business leadership class raised over $16,000 for families in the Wellington North community.
A news release stated the money was raised through movie and hockey buy-outs, spicy food challenges, silent auctions, chili cook off, donut sales, a bottle drive and dodgeball tournament.
Student council at the school also organized a food drive competition with a total of 835 items donated to local food banks. The Mount Forest Foodland also donated toys to the campaign as well.
