Marino Gazzola has been re-acclaimed as the chair of the Wellington Catholic District School Board.
Chair and vice-chair were selected for the upcoming year at WCDSB’s policy and corporate services meeting on Monday.
Gazzola has served for over 30 years on the board and has held positions as trustee, chair and vice-chair. He is also the vice-president of the Ontario Catholic School Board Trustees Association.
“It is an honour to serve once again as the chair of the WCDSB. I appreciate the support and confidence of my fellow trustees and will do my best to serve in this role and as representative of the board of trustees,” said Gazzola, in a press release.
The position of vice-chair is now Sebastian Dal Bo and he has served WCDSB for over a decade as trustee and in previous terms as vice-chair. He is also a former principal and teacher within WCDSB.
The vice-chair in the previous term was Vikki Dupuis.
“I am grateful for the nomination and look forward to serving as vice-chair. As trustees we are a team and will continue to work as a team to help support our students, staff and families in this upcoming term,” said Dal Bo, in the press release.
Gazzola and Dal Bo will each serve a one year term starting at the first board meeting in December.
