GUELPH — The County of Wellington's roads committee has voted to direct staff to purchase five plow trucks at a cost of $918,125 plus HST.

The majority voted in favour of the recommendation. However the actual count was not recorded. The roads committee met Tuesday morning.

The five plow trucks are to be delivered in 2024. The initial three are to be delivered in 2023 and were ordered in 2022.

Since the 2022 order was three and not four, a fifth truck had to be added to the 2023 order.

Back in 2018, it was decided that B & I's Complete Truck Centre, in Barrie, would supply the trucks. The agreement involved a seven year contract.

The trucks are the Western Star 47X.

A purpose in the process is to ensure all of the county's plow trucks are the same make, Western Star.
