ELORA — Downtown Elora residents and businesses could experience flooding as water levels continue to increase across the Grand River watershed.
According to a notice posted to the Township of Centre Wellington's Facebook page, flow levels from the Shand Dam are expected to reach "significantly high levels" after today.
This could lead to flooding in low-lying areas along the Grand River, including properties on West Mill Street in Elora and the downtown Elora boardwalk.
The township said businesses and residents in the affected areas have been notified.
"We urge the public to exercise extreme caution around local waterways during this time," said the notice.
