FERGUS – The Centre Wellington Black Committee will be kicking off Black History Month with a tribute concert to a legendary reggae artist.

The committee will present a Bob Marley tribute concert on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Fergus Grand Theatre.

A press release said the concert will feature performances from reggae singers Jimmy Reid and Errol Blackwood who will deliver renditions of the Jamaican singer’s songs. Marley would have been 80 years old on Feb. 6.

“This tribute concert is not just about his incredible music but also about honouring his lifelong commitment to social justice and human rights,” said Millicent Gordon, CWBC founder and chair, in a press release.

The event runs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Tickets are available through the Fergus Grand Theatre box office.
