Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has consolidated and streamlined notable traffic offences with a single release.

On April 24, 2024, members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Wellington Road 16, Centre Wellington. At approximately 2:45 p.m., the driver of a grey sedan entered the check. As a result of the investigation a 37-year-old from Guelph, was charged with Operation While Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code (C.C.). Further, the driver was also charged with Possession of Schedule I - Cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (C.D.S.A.) and Drive Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act (C.C.A.). The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on May 28, 2024.

On April 24, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 6, Minto. At approximately 3:15 p.m., a youth was observed operating a silver mini van above the poster 80 km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old from Minto, was charged with Speeding and Driving Motor Vehicle - No License contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (H.T.A.). Further, a 35-year-old passenger, was charged with Permit Person Under 16 to Drive contrary to the H.T.A. The youth defendant is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The adult defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On April 25, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Shanley Street, Rockwood. At approximately 1:15 p.m., the driver of a black Sport Utility Vehicle (S.U.V.) was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old from Acton, was charged with two counts of Drive Suspend, Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle and Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner, contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (C.A.I.A.) and Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Control Act (L.L.C.A.). The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On April 25, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, Mapleton. At approximately 10:45 p.m., the driver of a white S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old from Mapleton, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On April 26, 2024, at approximately 1:15 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a reported collision on Wellington Road 87, Minto. It was reported that a vehicle had struck a tree and that there were three people injured. One person was transported to a trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of the investigation,a 64-year-old of Innisfil, was charged with Careless Driving Cause Bodily Harm contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On April 26, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a reported collision on Wellington Road 29, Centre Wellington. It was reported that a vehicle had left the roadway and entered the ditch. As a result of the investigation a 44-year-old of Waterdown, was charged with Dangerous Operation and Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, contrary to the C.C. Further, the driver was also charged with Careless Driving and Novice Driver - Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C.) Above Zero contrary to the H.T.A. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on July 12, 2024.

On April 27, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 7:15 p.m., the driver of a grey sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old from Mississauga, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On April 27, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, Wellington North. At approximately 12:45 p.m., the driver of a silver sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old from Toronto, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On April 29, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Tower Street South, Fergus. At approximately 4:30 a.m., the driver of a grey pick-up truck and a white hatchback were observed racing. As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old from Mount Forest and 28-year-old driver from Mount Forest, were both charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt contrary to the H.T.A. The defendants are scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On April 29, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 10:30 a.m., the driver of a white pick-up truck was observed travelling well above the posted 80 km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old from Waterloo, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and Driver Fail to Properly Wear Seat Belt, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On April 30, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, Wellington North. At approximately 1:00 p.m., the driver of a black motorcycle was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old from Wellington North, was charged with three counts of Drive Suspend, Drive Motor Vehicle - No Plates, Drive Motor Vehicle - No Permit, and Drive Motor Vehicle - Improper Licence, contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On April 30, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, Wellington North. At approximately 3:00 p.m., the driver of a black sedan was observed travelling above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old from Fergus, was charged with Impaired Operation - B.A.C. 80 Plus contrary to the C.C. and Speeding contrary to the H.T.A. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on May 14, 2024.

On May 3, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 17, Mapleton. At approximately 7:30 a.m., the driver of a white sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old from Amaranth, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed, Drive - No Licence and Drive - No Permit, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 4, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on St David Street North, Fergus. At approximately 3:30 p.m., the driver of a grey sedan was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old from Stoney Creek, was charged with Impaired Operation - B.A.C. 80 Plus contrary to the C.C. and Drive Motor Vehicle with an Open Container of Liquor contrary to the L.L.C.A. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on May 14, 2024.

On May 4, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Peel Street West, Mapleton. At approximately 8:15 p.m., the driver of a grey sedan was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old from Elmira, was charged with Impaired Operation and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, contrary to the C.C. Further, the driver was also charged with speeding contrary to the H.T.A. and Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the C.C.A. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on June 4, 2024.

On May 7, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, Ponsonby. At approximately 12:30 a.m., the driver of a black sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 60km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old from Guelph, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 7, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, Ponsonby. At approximately 1:30 a.m., the driver of a grey S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 60km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old from Fergus, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and Drive Motor Vehicle - No Currently Validated Permit, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 8, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, Mapleton. At approximately 8 a.m., the driver of a black S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old from Kitchener, was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 8, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 12:30 p.m., the driver of a blue sedan vehicle was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old from Saint Jean Sur Richelieu, QC, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 8, 2024, at approximately 9 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a reported collision on Wellington Road 18, West Garafraxa. It was reported that two vehicles had collided, and one driver failed to remain at the scene. As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old of Caledon, was charged with Dangerous Operation, Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired - B.A.C. 80 plus, and Failure to Stop After Accident, contrary to the C.C. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on May 23, 2024.

On May 10, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 109, Wellington North. At approximately 8 p.m., the driver of an e-bike was stopped. As a result of the investigation,a 30-year-old of Wellington North, was charged with Operation While Prohibited contrary to the C.C. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on June 7, 2024.

On May 11, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 12:15 a.m., the driver of a red S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old from Mississauga was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 11, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 1:45 a.m., the driver of a white sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old from Cambridge was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 13, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Elora Street North, Harriston. At approximately 2:15 p.m., the driver of a grey pick-up truck was observed performing a stunt. As a result of the investigation, a 60-year-old from Harriston was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 14, 2024, members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Orangeville Road, Fergus. At approximately 8:30 p.m., the driver of a stolen white sedan refused to stop at the check and struck an officer causing minor injuries. As a result of the investigation a 31-year-old from Fergus, was charged with Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon, Operation While Impaired, Dangerous Operation, Flight from Police, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code (C.C.). Further, the driver was also charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt and Drive Motor Vehicle while Suspended, contrary to the H.T.A., and Possession of Schedule I - Cocaine contrary to the C.D.S.A. The accused was held for bail.

On May 15, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 8:30 p.m., the driver of a black S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old from Cambridge was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 16, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Second Line East, Guelph/Eramosa. At approximately 3 p.m., the driver of a grey sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 50km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old from Guelph was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and Drive Motor Vehicle - No Licence, contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 17, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Woodlawn Road West, Guelph. At approximately 11:45 p.m., the driver of a blue sedan was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old of Guelph, was charged with Operation While Impaired - B.A.C. 80 plus contrary to the C.C. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on May 31, 2024.

On May 18, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 12:30 p.m., the driver of a blue sedan was observed being driven erratically. As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old of Guelph, was charged with Dangerous Operation, Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired - B.A.C. 80 plus, contrary to the C.C. Further, the driver was also charged with Class G1 Licence Holder - Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver, Novice Driver - B.A.C. Above Zero, Change Lane - Not in Safety, Fail to Stop on Right for Emergency Vehicle, and Driver Fail to Surrender Licence, contrary to the H.T.A. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on May 31, 2024.

On May 18, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Wellington Road 6, Wellington North. At approximately 4:15 p.m., the driver of a red S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old from Kitchener was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 18, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Wellington Road 6, Wellington North. At approximately 4:15 p.m., the driver of a red S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old from Kitchener was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 19, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Wellington Road 7, Centre Wellington. At approximately 2:45 p.m., the driver of a red sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old from Elora was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and Drive Motor Vehicle- No Currently Validated Permit, contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the Driver was also charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Aug. 21, 2024.

On May 21, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Wellington Road 21, Inverhaugh. At approximately 8:30 p.m., the driver of a black pick-up truck was observed travelling well above the posted 50km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old from Brampton was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed, Careless Driving and Pass - Roadway Not Clear - Approaching Traffic, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Sept. 4, 2024.

On May 21, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was patrolling on the 4th Line, Minto. At approximately 10:00 p.m., the driver of a grey sedan was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old of Palmerston, was charged with Operation While Impaired - B.A.C. 80 plus contrary to the C.C. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on June 4, 2024.

On May 21, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a collision in Wellington Road 21, Pilkington. It was reported that a white sedan had left the roadway. As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old of Elora, was charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired - B.A.C. 80 plus, contrary to the C.C. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A, Driver Fail to Surrender Licence contrary to the H.T.A. and Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to the L.L.C.A. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on June 7, 2024.

On May 23, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the fifth Line, Guelph/Eramosa. At approximately 4:30 p.m., the driver of a black sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 50km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old from Rockwood was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Sept. 4, 2024.

On May 23, 2024, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Wellington Road 32, Guelph/Eramosa. It was reported that a black S.U.V. had struck a grey S.U.V. As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old of Cambridge, was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired - B.A.C. 80 plus and Dangerous Driving, contrary to the C.C. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on June 7, 2024.

On May 25, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, Ponsonby. At approximately 3:15 a.m., the driver of a black sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 60km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old driver from Guelph, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. and Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Sept. 4, 2024.

On May 26, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 8:45 a.m., the driver of a grey coupe was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old driver from Brampton, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and Drive Motor Vehicle - No Currently Validated Permit, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Sept. 4, 2024.

On May 26, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 12:45 p.m., the driver of a black sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old driver from Thornhill, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Sept. 4, 2024.

On May 26, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 2:30 p.m., the driver of a green S,U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old driver from East York, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Sept. 4, 2024.

On May 29, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Highway 6, Guelph/Eramosa. At approximately 12:15 a.m., the driver of a silver sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old driver from Guelph, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and Disobey Stop Sign, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Sept. 4, 2024

On May 31, 2024, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Queen Street, Belwood. It was reported that the driver of a black sedan was prohibited from driving. As a result of the investigation, a 68-year-old of Belwood, was charged with two counts of Operation while Prohibited contrary to the C.C. and Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the H.T.A. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on July 2, 2024.

On June 1, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a reported collision on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. It was reported that a vehicle had collided with a pole and a passenger was taken to a trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old of Guelph, was charged with Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm contrary to the C.C. and Novice Driver B.A.C. above zero contrary to the H.T.A. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on June 14, 2024.

On June 1, 2024, members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting a R.I.D.E. check on Orangeville Road, Fergus. At approximately 11:30 p.m., the driver of a black sedan entered the check. As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old of York, was charged with Operation While Impaired and Failure to Comply with Demand, contrary to the C.C. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on July 5, 2024.

On June 2, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 2:00 p.m., the driver of a gold mini van was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old driver from Guelph, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and Permit Use of Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle, contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Sept. 4, 2024.

On June 3, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Highway 6, Centre Wellington. At approximately 11:45 p.m., the driver of a blue coupe was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old driver from Fergus, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Sept. 10, 2024.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old of Waterloo was charged with Operation While Impaired contrary to the C.C.
