Suspicious vehicle call results in impaired driving charge

GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest a Guelph resident with six criminal charges as a result of impaired operation.

On Dec. 3, 2024 at approximately 1:15 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a suspicious motor vehicle on River Glen Path within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Guelph woman was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code (four counts)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on Dec. 20, 2024.
