GUELPH – A Puslinch man was arrested after several witnesses reported an impaired driver leaving a Guelph bar early Saturday, Guelph police say.
Just before 2 a.m. police received numerous calls about a male leaving an establishment on Woodlawn Road West who was observed stumbling to his vehicle. Witnesses reported he was driving erratically and almost hit another vehicle while leaving the parking lot.
Officers responded and located the male’s pick-up in the drive-through of a nearby business. While speaking to the male they detected a strong odour of alcohol on his breath and he was unsteady on his feet when he exited the truck. Tests at the police station confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 22-year-old Puslinch man is charged with impaired operation.
