Man facing 9 criminal charges in connection to home invasion, two still at large

PUSLINCH – Wellington County OPP have charged a suspect in connection with a Home Invasion & Robbery in Morriston.

On Friday, Jan. 31 at approximately 1 a.m., police responded to an emergency 911 call for a home invasion at a residence in the vicinity of Church Street and Whitcombe Way.

It was determined that three individuals forcefully entered a residence and confronted the occupants inside. One occupant received minor injuries following an altercation with the suspects. The suspects took the homeowner's vehicle and fled the scene.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the Mississauga Detachment OPP located the stolen vehicle in a parking lot near Highway 401 and James Snow Parkway in the Town of Milton. OPP arrested one suspect with the assistance of Halton Regional Police and the Peel Regional Police Canine Unit. Investigators recovered a firearm at the scene.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Jesse Mlynarski, 24 from Toronto, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Disguise with intent
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Robbery using firearm (restricted or prohibited)
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

At this time, two other suspects are currently outstanding, and the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit is asking for public assistance by checking their CCTV / vehicle dash-cam footage in the following surrounding areas, in the event they locate the two other suspects involved in this investigation:

Jan. 29, Whitcombe Way, Puslinch - Time Frame: 8-10 p.m.

Jan. 30, Whitcombe Way, Puslinch - Time Frame: 10:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Jan. 31, Whitcombe Way, Puslinch - Time Frame: 12 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Location No. 2

Jan. 31, Shopping Plaza, south-west side of Steeles Avenue East and James Snow Parkway North, Milton - Time Frame: 12:30-2 a.m.

Public to look out for:

  • Three suspects, described as darker skin tone, approximately six feet in height, skinny/lean body type, white gloves, black jackets, black pants and black masks covering their faces.
  • Dark coloured Honda Civic sedan (newer model 2018+), no plate information at this time.
