Intimate partner violence investigation leads to assault charge

WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP - The Wellington County OPP has charged a  Mount Forest resident with assault in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation.

On Oct. 5, 2024 at approximately 2:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address in Mount Forest.

As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old of Mount Forest, has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following:

  • Assault - Spousal

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph, at a later date.
