Harriston resident charged after stolen vehicle recovered

OPP say swift actions by uniform members resulted in an arrest

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen vehicle and shortly locate the suspect, placing them into custody and recovering the stolen vehicle.

On December 18, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were on patrol when a report came in of a recent stolen vehicle within Harriston.

Police attended the scene and as a result of the investigation, and swift actions by uniform members of the OPP, a 36-year-old from Harriston, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle

The accused was arrested on scene and has since been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on January 24, 2025.
