Guelph driver charged with impaired during RIDE check in Fergus

On Sept. 14, 2024, at approximately 08:45 pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Orangeville Road, within the Town of Fergus.

During the initiative, a vehicle was stopped, and the driver was assessed for sobriety. As a result of the investigation, [a 36-year-old] of Guelph, was charged with:

  • operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, at a later date.
