It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Anthony Davis at the age of 86. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his beloved wife Joanne (née Weicker), whom he recently lost in June 2024. Peter and Joanne spent 65 years together living life to the fullest. Peter will be missed by his children, Jeff (Shelly), Jill Stoddart (David), and Andrew, brothers John (Doreen) and Paul (Jean), and sister-in-law Doris Weicker.

Pete will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Peter, Toni, Brian, Hailey, and Artemis, as well as his great-grandchildren Alex, TJ, and Ruby. He will also be remembered by several nieces and nephews who he loved and adored.

Pete spent his entire career in the Canadian Military. He began flying in 1957, originally serving as an F-86 Sabre pilot with 444 (F) Squadron in 4 Fighter Wing, Baden-Soellingen, Germany, from 1959-63. He spent the remainder of his career as an Army pilot and served in various aviation positions in the Army and Air Command. When he retired from the Armed Services in the late 1980”s as a Lt Colonel, he had logged over 4700 flying hours on 19 different aircraft. For those who knew him, Pete was a larger-than-life individual who brought great enthusiasm to anything he touched.

We would like to extend a very special thank you to Jan Baynton and her husband Mike for all their help and support in his final weeks. Your kindness will always be remembered.

As per Pete’s wishes, there will be no immediate services. A memorial will be planned for later this summer at the RCSAC Memorial in Camp Borden when Peter and his beloved wife Joanne will be placed together at their final resting place.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Family & Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region Foundation (www.facsfoundation.org) or a charity of your choice.

“It's the cursèd cold, and it's got right hold till I'm chilled clean through to the bone.
Yet 'tain't being dead—it's my awful dread of the icy grave that pains;
So I want you to swear that, foul or fair, you'll cremate my last remains." Robert F Service
