In 2018, Mike Schreiner became the first-ever member of Ontario’s Green Party to be elected to Queen’s Park. Four years later, he’s campaigning hard to have a few more of his Green colleagues join him in the legislature.
With just two days left until Ontario voters head to the polls, Schreiner sat down with Inside the Village for a wide-ranging interview about his party, his priorities—and how a grain farmer from rural Kansas ended up running for the job of Ontario Premier.
When the campaign kicked off, Village Media requested one-on-one with interviews with the leaders of all four major political parties. Schreiner, who represents the riding of Guelph, was among those who accepted the invitation.
Launched last month, Inside the Village is a news and current affairs podcast that provides a weekly window into some of the best local journalism from across Village Media's expanding network of community newsrooms. The podcast also explores big-picture issues and ideas that impact people all over Ontario.
