ARTHUR – A local distillery has won big at a U.S. spirits competition again.

Arthur’s Silver Fox Distillery has been named as the U.S. Open Spirits’ grand national champion for the 2023 competition.

This is the second year in a row Silver Fox won this award and in 2022 was the first Canadian distillery to win this.

Silver Fox won gold in Canadian whisky and aged/barrel-aged moonshine, and silver in traditional moonshine, gin, gin flavoured/infused, and specialty spirits categories.

Judging in the U.S. Open Whiskey and Spirits Championships is blind and was held in Oxford, Ohio and Buffalo, New York.

Silver Fox Distillery was opened by Lisa and Mark Townsend in Arthur in February 2020.
