PUSLINCH — Puslinch council has approved a 4.1 per cent tax increase in 2025.
Approved at a Puslinch council meeting Wednesday afternoon, the increase will help support a total budget of $5,672,143, with $4,236,333 allocated towards operating and $1,435,809 for capital.
This represents an annual increase of $52 for the median single-family home assessed at $661,000 and does not include the county portion.
The only new thing included in the budget compared to the January draft was an updated design for the Killean School Bell from the Puslinch Historical Society regarding the planned cairn's design. The project is currently anticipated to cost $20,550 to be funded from the cash in lieu of parkland restricted reserve.
Staff also mentioned changes to the province's aggregate extraction property class resulted in an approximately $10.2K reduction in township taxes and a 0.18 per cent increase to the levy.
No budget updates were included based on resident comments from a public information meeting last month.
