According to Hydro One’s power outage map, power is out for 3,707 customers in the Hillsburgh and Erin area.

The map said the cause is a “pole fire.”

Crews are working in the area with an estimated restoration time of 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Erin’s town hall and town facilities are closed until further notice due to the power outage.

In a message on its website, Upper Grand District School Board asked families not to send children to the following schools due to the power outage: Erin Public School, Ross R. MacKay, Brisbane Public School, East Garafraxa Public School and Erin District High School.

School buses already enroute to the schools will receive students who were already on the bus.
