CENTRE WELLINGTON – A local food drive is looking to help put food on everyone’s table this Thanksgiving.
The Community Food Drive is collecting canned and non perishable foods on Saturday for the CW Food Bank.
Volunteers have distributed bags to houses in Fergus and Elora for pick-up. Participants are asked to place the bag on the porch by 9 a.m. for pick-up on Saturday.
Those who didn’t get a bag can still arrange for a porch pick-up or bring the donation to the Centre Wellington District High School parking lot on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
A flyer noted the items most needed by the CW Food Bank are:
- Pasta sauce
- Pasta side dishes
- Rice side dishes
- Canned vegetables
- Canned soup
- Canned beans
- Peanut butter
- Juice
- Toilet paper
- Canned salmon
Monday is reserved as an alternative pick-up day and can be arranged by calling or texting (519)-993-6226.
