WELLINGTON COUNTY – County of Wellington councillors were collectively paid $914,901.66 in total for 2021 including benefits and expenses.
A remuneration report going to the administration, finance and human resources committee states councillors were paid $42,325.92 in salary for 2021 by the County of Wellington. Warden Kelly Linton received a salary of $132,573.48.
In 2020, councillors voted to freeze their salaries at that year’s rate and therefore were paid the same.
This council consists 16 people, the seven municipal mayors and nine elected councillors, with one of the 16 voted by council to be warden.
Their salaries collectively total $767,462.28. Their total benefits and expenses paid were $116,870.28 and $30,569.10 respectively.
The total is about $14,000 less than it was in 2020 mainly due to less expenses by councillors.
