Lots of Riverfest merch could be seen worn by the crowds at the recent festival.

ELORA – Another successful Riverfest is in the books as thousands came out for the past weekend’s festival at Bissell Park.

Spencer Shewen, Riverfest Elora executive and artistic director, said in an email over 15,000 people attended the festival headlined by The Reklaws, Metric and Feist over the weekend.

“This year’s festival was like a dream,” Shewen said. “Everyone was in great spirits, the fans and artists had a great time, the weather was perfect and fun was had by all.”

Shewen said the festival is made possible with the contributions of over 550 volunteers who put in countless hours.

He explained attendance could cap out at 7,000 people per day and the festival isn’t looking to grow any larger or move locations for next year.

“Our goal is to stay the same size and stay in the park. The Village of Elora is as much a part of the festival as the actual location at Bissell Park,” Shewen said. “We are always looking at crowd flow and experience and making little adjustments year to year to make the space more user friendly and we already have ideas for next year.”

Planning for Riverfest 2024 is already underway and set for Aug. 16 to 18, 2024 still at Bissell Park. The first set of early bird tickets have sold out and more will be released soon.
