It’s that time of year again!
Do you know someone who makes a positive difference in the community, who goes out of their way for others, whose undeniable passion for Erin inspires everyone around them?
The Town of Erin is launching its call for submissions for the 2025 Shamrock Awards, honouring citizen dedication and achievement in the community.
This year, there are several new categories to recognize unique talent and commitment to the Erin community.
“The Town of Erin is a diverse town, enriched by newcomers from across the globe and those seeking a haven from city life. Our location, close to the GTA, has attracted entrepreneurs, athletes, artists, and many with big hearts,” said Erin Mayor Michael Dehn. “Many of our community members have made significant impacts not just locally, but also nationally and internationally. These new awards will shine a light on the extraordinary contributions of these individuals to the Town of Erin and beyond."
The following are new categories for 2025:
- Contribution to Canadian Industry Award: An award for a resident who has made significant contributions to industry on a national scale. Note: this award can be presented posthumously.
- Sports Achievement Award: To an individual, team or animal who has made a significant sporting achievement in 2024.
- Arts and Culture Award: To an artist, performer or group who has made a significant impact on Erin's arts and culture scene.
- Philanthropy Award: This award recognizes outstanding contributions made to the betterment of the Erin community.
